Yosuke Hosoi is an international film director/ director of photography from Japan. From a young age Yosuke exhibited a keen interest in the arts, causing him to look for different ways to channel his creative energy. His search eventually led him to fall head over heels for his first lovefilmmaking. His journey to pursue his passion began in an effort to put his colorful imagination on screen.
In 2005, Yosuke moved to Los Angeles, determined to make his mark in the United States. He gained valuable experience through his work on an independent feature film and several thesis films for graduate schools such the American Film Institute, Southern California University, and Chapman University. In an effort to develop a better understanding of what happens on the other side of the camera, Yosuke studied acting under Rick Podell at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.
A year later, Yosuke made yet another bold move to New York, where he enrolled into the BFA program at The City College of New York. In 2010, his team placed third in the Financial Awareness Video Competition held by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. His talent and hard work has been recognized and awarded a number of accolades, which include runner-up in the 2011 CUNY Asian American Film Festival for his film Club Fizz and Best Production Design for his thesis film Man of the House.
Inspired by the extraordinary stories found in the ordinary and the simplicities of life, Yosuke continues to work on his upcoming projects and as a freelanced cinematographer.
