Hey, guys! There are so many ads around us every day, so many messages, body texts and slogans like “Your best choice”, “Dreams come true”, “Be a number one!” and many other banal s**t like this. Maybe it worked 20 years ago, but now advertising became more personal. If you are making ad, you have to give a feeling or something what grabs the attention of customer.
But.
Most of the slogans I saw in Webtel.mobi competition were so ordinary. Sometimes it looks like you use some slogan generator, or another brainless machine.
I found in Google a simple slogan generator (http://www.sloganmaker.com).
I put there word Webtel.mobi, and look, what I’ve got:

_webtel.mobi is the real dream.
webtel.mobi makes millions friends.
webtel.mobi so good you want it again.
webtel.mobi – This is your playground.
Things go better with webtel.mobi.
webtel.mobi is your secret.
webtel.mobi it’s real.
Everyone should believe in webtel.mobi.
webtel.mobi brings happiness._

Boooring. Isn’it?
Believe or not, but most of those I saw in prints and videos looks very similar to slogans above.

I started to make my video for Webtel competitions. It supposed to be finished in 2 days, but instead of this I spent 3 days just for writing the copy.
You can call me a pedant, but sometimes being pedant helps:)

Guys, we are not a robots, we are people with feelings and emotions, so, let’s bring them to our ads.
Good luck to everyone who participiate in Webtel.mobi contest!

Sorry, but I’m not a copywriter. I try to come up with a ‘Gothcha’ line or two to grab attention and tie it in to the image. If I am as boring and cliché as the others, please let me know!

Curious what you think of mine as well. I don’t think it’s the most brilliant or revolutionary, but I think it paired with the image in a really powerful way. Sometimes it’s not what you say, but how you say it.

I mostly agree with you, though.

Never underestimate good copywriting. I’m glad people are talking about this subject, it can make or break an ad.
