A new contest is now up on Zooppa!
In the world of guacamole, there are those who think that if you didn’t mash the avocado yourself, your guacamole is junk. We call these people “Guac Snobs”.
Guac Snobs don’t believe that it’s possible to find a guac-in-a-box that is as good as guacamole they mash themselves.
There are others out there in the great big world of guacamole that understand how fresh and good guac-in-a-box can be. These people (we call them “Guac Stars”) know that opening a box of Wholly Guacamole is just as good as (if not better than) waiting three days for your avocado to ripen to create freshly washed and smashed and chopped and diced (oops, get a bandaid) and hand-stirred guacamole.
It’s the Guac Snobs vs The Guac Stars. Which one are you?
YOUR MISSION:
Make a video, up to 90 seconds long, that pits Guac Snobs in situations against Guac Stars.
Good Luck everyone!
Let me know if you have any questions!

Hey there,
I don’t think they sell the guacamole in Spain. But you can still enter the contest!

Is the client open to other ideas that don’t involve “guac stars” and “guac snobs”? It just seems like they have a very specific concept in mind, and by the lack of entries I’m guessing most people aren’t sure how to pull it off.

Hey there,
I’d like to know what you had in mind! I think you should take your idea and try to weave in at least a guac star or snob into the video. But please let us know what you had in mind. If you don’t want to talk about it out on the forum then email us at zooppa.usa@zooppa.com
Thanks!

Hey Manny,
I’m new to this site and excited about posting my first spot. The video will be done kind of close to the deadline. Just curious, is there a disadvantage to summiting near the deadline?
Thanks,
Jesse

I was thinking the same thing. I’ve only barely begun production and was wondering if it made much of a difference if I submit close to the deadline…

Hey guys,
There are a couple of advantages to submitting earlier than at the day of the deadline.
1. you get more time for votes to come in
2. you get more time for any revisions that the client might want.
Although number 2 doesn’t happen very often, it can. Sometimes the client likes a video but has a comment or concern and we’ll ask the filmmaker to revise. If you submit at the day of the upload period ends, you don’t have time for us or the client to review your work.
Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info. Next time I’ll work on getting the spot done earlier.

Absolutely! There’s no limit to winning videos.
However, you’ll probably do better if you submit entirely different videos—not just slight variations on the same one.

Are there any forms that our actors or extras that are in the commercial need to fill out?
|
Quote
If there aren’t any forms in the brief or material downloads for actors, then no.
Thanks,
Manny

Hello there!!! I’ve just uploaded my video, but I don’t like the final result in terms of image resolution. It was filmmed in HD 1920/1080, 25 fps. I edited it with Premiere, and when I try to decode it into the required formats, I didn’t find any of them. So I transcodeded it into an mpeg2 and turned it into NTSC. It resulted a 24 megas file. Please, does anybody know how to increase resolution without increasing the file size?

Hello again zoopers!! I’ve already solved the encoding problem. Now my video is less than 50 MB and it looks much better, in an mp4 fotmat codec h264. I’m uploading it right now. My question now is how to erase the first one. Another question please: What code do you refer by " Enter here the code you received to participate in the private contest" I don’t remember I got it. How can I get it?. Thaks a lot, Addy Chávez

I made a mistake when uploading the 2nd video. I put my profile photo instead the video’s thumbnail. How can I solve it? How can I erase the first video? thanks in advance, Addy.

Hey there,
Voting will end one week after the upload period ends. So keep sending you buddies to vote on your videos!
Thanks,
Manny
