YOUR MISSION
Create a video, 1 -2 minutes long, that exhibits the capabilities of Verizon 4G LTE through product integration. Ideally you have a Verizon 4G LTE device in your video, but if you just express the idea of what you would do if you had it, that’s fine too.

Hey Zooppers,

So the early entry period was a little hidden due to the fact that we had Verizon closing today. Since it would be unfair to extend the early entry period we’re going to have the client choose from the 3 videos.

BUT! We’re holding an extra Early Entry period!

This time it’s going to be July 22nd. We’re giving you 1 extra weekend to create a video about 1-2 minutes long, that exhibits the capabilities of Verizon 4G LTE through product integration. Meaning we would like a story with a Verizon 4G product in it!

We want stories!

Unfortunately, I don’t know if we’re going to be able to have access to a Verizon device when we shoot our video. Is it OK if we use a non-Verizon smart phone if we make sure not to show any mobile carrier or manufacturer logos/branding?

Hi There,

Right now my video is 2 minutes and 8 seconds long. Do you think the extra 8 seconds will be acceptable? Or do I have to try and cut them out. Sorry this sounds like a stupid question, I’m a newbie here.

Thanks for answering my previous question! I was also wondering if I have to remove a copyright notice that I put in at the end of my video (for a second along with some other stuff). Since this video will become Verizon’s property (or so I understand) does this mean I should remove this notice?

Oh Also, one more stupid question. Are the videos picked by you guys (and/or Verizon) or are the winners based on the amount of votes/views (i.e picked by the public)

Hey there,

Why would you put a copyright notice on you video? Just wondering. That’s not necessarily required. However, I do have to mention that all music, images, video footage and other content must be either originally produced by the filmmaker submitting the video, or proper permissions must be authorized by the copyright owner.

Music and logos are our biggest worries at the moment. Please be sure not to include logos (unless otherwise stated int he brief). The music you use in your video should be your own or license purchased.

Ok Great Thanks, I usually just put “© 2011 Dara Ó Cairbre (my name) … etc” at the end of all of my videos out of habit, but I think I’ll take it out for this one. I’ve also removed the most obvious logos and stuff but I was wondering about the following: on the Verizon MiFi Device there’s a Samsung logo on it (as it’s produced by Samsung). Should I remove this too or leave it in since it’s a Verizon product.

Also I have gotten permission from the composer of the music used in the video so I think that’s all good.

Can we use a verizon logo that isn’t on a product or do we have to recreate one from scratch?

Nevermind, I figure I’ll just play it save and recreate the logo in GIMP. Thank You.

Looks like I ran into a more difficult issue. I can’t get the AAC codec to work. Is that the only format that they will accept for audio? Also is .mpg the same as .mpeg? I always thought they were, but now I’m not so sure. Thanks for you help.

mpg is, indeed, the same as mpeg. If you can’t get it to work, you can upload with a different codec and I’ll go ahead and reformat with my equipment.

How long should a video take to upload? I have a 150MB .mov file that seems like its just standing still…

Hi TopModelMaker,

You got your video uploaded but I’d like to answer your question anyway so that others can see.

The upload process takes about 5-20 minutes depending on your file size.

Once you click “submit video”, your video starts uploading. Once it is done you go to the encoding page and it lets you know that your video is uploaded and encoding in order for it to appear in the video contest section.

Hello, my video completed uploading however the site gave me an error that “This web page has a redirect loop.” Would it still be able to go through?
