In addition to a $5,000 cash award, the First Place winner will be given two tickets to and invited to attend and socialize with Hollywood’s biggest stars at the Hollywood Awards® Gala ceremony on October 24, 2011 in Hollywood, California (airfare and lodging not included). The winner will also be recognized in the Hollywood Awards® Gala Ceremony Program Book for their winning video.

The Second Place winner will receive a $2,000 award and the choice of one of the remaining of assistant producing and/or work & credits on a television show, movie or music video with one of our judges.

The Third Place winner will receive $1,000 and the choice of one of the remaining assistant producing and/or work & credits on a television show, movie or music video with one of our judges.

This is your mission:
Make a 30-second video that promotes, celebrates, or teaches about being a living organ donor on MatchingDonors.com. The creative approach you take on this assignment is at your discretion. A serious approach could be taken to highlight the noble heroism and compassion of persons who willingly and altruistically donate a piece of themselves to save lives. On the other hand, a funny approach could also be taken to highlight the lighter side of living organ donation. For instance, what humorous things could happen to a person who’s trying to donate an organ? How does missing an organ change a person’s attitude in a humorous way? While the creative direction you choose is up to you, be mindful that MatchingDonors.com wants these videos to serve effectively as Public Service Announcements (PSAs), so they should represent the process of organ donation in a positive manner.

Quick question. In the brief, it does not state that the logo is required in the video…I’ve noticed that when it is required, it usually states so. Is the logo needed in this one?

I ended up just remaking it in Gimp. Thanks for trying to get us a slightly bigger one though.

Hey everyone!

There’s been a slight change in the MatchingDonors contest. we’re extending the upload period to the last day of voting 10/1/11. There will be a formal announcement tomorrow on the blog and going out via email so stay tuned.

The only difference is that the winner will not be recognized in the Hollywood Awards® Gala Ceremony Program Book for their winning video. The book’s printing happens a little early.

Hey everyone,

There was a great entry submitted recently but we had to remove it due to copyright issues.

Do check if you have the proper permission/license to use the music you put in your video if you didn’t create the music yourself.

If you have uploaded a video and you find that you do not have the proper licensing or permissions then you have the option to edit your entry with different music or no music at all.

Is it ok if project competition participant is not US citizen? Is it allowed to upload more than one video per person?

Just a reminder to everyone that your video should have the MatchingDonors logo or website URL as well as the phrase “Everyone Can Save a Life by being a living organ donor on MatchingDonors.com” in their videos.

When will the winners be posted?

Like all contests we like to have the winners announced within 2 weeks of the contest being over. This one might take longer because we have special guest judges.

Hey Manny, is there any way for me to know if my video made it online or not? After some time instead of getting a “your video is processing” I got an error saying it timed out.
