Hey kids, here’s another new contest. You should enter!

Your mission:

Create a video, 30 to 60 seconds, showing the ultimate party host talking about or demonstrating their tools (including the Margaritaville Cargo Mixed Drink Maker) for a wildly successful party.
You can have fun with the exposition of the story. It could be an interview, backstage before a big party or a documentary-style spoof. Have fun with this one!

Check out the brief page for more details!

Here’s the nitty-gritty:

  • 30 to 60 seconds. This includes the end slate and the required videos.
  • Must end with end slate. (It’s in the materials file.)
  • All actors must be over 25 and look at least 25 years old.
  • Do not show people drinking, or drunk people.
  • All glasses must be full.
  • All bottles must be full.
  • Any images of “pour shots” need to be one ounce servings or less.
  • Nothing that would appeal to children – toys, music, images, etc.
  • No motorized vehicles.
  • No statements regarding health benefit.
  • Early Entry deadline is Monday, Oct. 17 at 4 p.m. PST
  • Final deadline is Monday, Nov. 7 at 4 p.m. PST
  • Voting deadline is Monday, Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. PST
  • As always, you have to own rights to everything (video clips, music, etc.) in your video.

Hi Julia!

I saw this on facebook, looks like a fun contest. I was wondering where I could get a hold of the margaritaville cargo and if there is some sort of discount or even get it for free/ to loan for the contest. I saw the pictures but that doesn’t seem as good as actually having the appliance. Thanks!

I mean maybe I’m crazy but this is a bit ridiculous – They expect us to buy our own Margaritaville Cargo Mixer (which by the way is out of stock on their website) and create a commercial. I don’t know how much this thing costs but judging by the other ones costing around $200 I’m sure this one isn’t any cheaper. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but I don’t know if I want to spend $250 initially just to enter a video contest that I might not even win….

Hello, I wanted to know why you can not vote on the videos in the race. Is there a start date for vote?

Hey everyone,

There is no need to purchase the Mixed Drink Maker for this contest. That’s why we include the product shots in the material files.

Thanks

You definitely can vote for these videos. Voting ends on Nov. 14. If you don’t see the voting slider, double-check that you are logged in to your Zooppa account.

hello,
i have 2 questions. in the brief pdf file there are 2 statements:

1 . Any images of ʻpour shotsʼ need to be one ounce servings or less
can you explain what this means?

and also in the same pdf files it says:

2. Must include one of the Margaritaville Cargo Mixed Drink Maker videos in
the material downloads

What is this videos? there is only image files in the materials file. Isn`t the endslate image enough?
thanks,

Yeah, where are the video files? If the brief included video clips with the mixer in action, there definitely wouldn’t be a need to own the actual blender (which I’ve seen online listing at $299.00+ and everywhere I look it’s out of stock). A little help! Also, on a side note, how do I correct the spelling of my profile name?

Hello Zooppa,

I had another question about the age restriction.

I was wondering how would you like us to verify that the actors are all above 25 and look at least 25? The latter seems pretty subjective . I have actors who are under 25 (but older than 21) but look way older and I have people above 25 that may or may not pass for 25. I just wanted to clarify before I start shooting and would possibly have to reshoot because of how old someone looks.

Thanks!

Do we have access to the Margaritaville music for the competition? If so, where can I get it?

They should look and be older than 25. A good indication might be when you think they’ll pass without having to show their IDs at bars.

Jimmy Buffet’s song “Margaritaville” is not available and cannot be used for this contest. It is, however, an awesome song.

1. Image of pour shots just means that when you want to put a clip with someone pouring a shot, it should be a short clip, one that will only show one ounce or less.
2. You do not have to put any videos. You are only required to put the end slate image. Sorry for the confusion.

You do not have to put any video files but you have to put the end slate image. :) You also do not have to purchase the mixer. Use your imagination and creativity to make it work, we’ve also provided some images that you can use in your video :)

Can we talk about the other Margaritaville Cargo products or just the Mixed Drink Maker? The brief on Zooppa says 30-60 seconds while the downloaded brief says 30 seconds or less, which is the correct time frame?

Hey, just wondering if there was any way to get a larger image for the endslate. It is very small and to enlarge it for a 1080 resolution (even 720) video will destroy the picture quality.

Thanks,
Gregabyte

I’m working on getting a higher-res slate. I’ll keep you posted.

Feel free to mention other Margaritaville products, as long as they help make the ultimate party host, and that the main focus is the mixed drink maker.

The correct one is 30-60 seconds. The downloaded brief has been updated. Thanks for your sharp eyes!

Hi Zooppa,

Are we allowed to send in multiple entries? and if we are, is it possible to win an award with each video or can each member only win once per competition?

As long as it doesn’t say there’s a limit on the contest page, you may submit and win multiple times. Our In Search of Incredible competition is limited to one entry per person, but Margaritaville is open for any and all

Hey all,

For the sake of some storytelling techniques, we’ve changed the requirement language slightly on the use of the end slate. It still must be used, but now can be near the end, rather than just the last image you see (which is also still acceptable)

“Must use provided end slate towards end of video pointing people to play the Facebook social game.”

Let me know if you’ve got questions!
