Hey kids, here’s a new contest. You should enter!
Your mission:
Make a video, up to 30 seconds long, demonstrating one or more alternative food preservation methods that didn’t quite work out. The failed methods can be historically accurate, or they can be fanciful failed food preservation methods of your own devising.
Your videos can showcase failed preservation techniques from today, or famous food preservation fails from the past. If you so choose, you can demonstrate how things might have been different if your subjects had access to a FoodSaver®.

Here’s the nitty-gritty:
- Videos must be 30 seconds or less.
- Close your videos with the FoodSaver® End Slate provided in the materials download.
- You must mention the “FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealing System” at least once in your video. (Using the end slate fulfills this requirement.)
- Final deadline is Monday, Nov. 7 at 4 p.m. PST
- As always, you have to own rights to everything (video clips, music, etc.) in your video.

A couple of questions:
1. The brief says the prize is for US$4 thousand, but is this divided by various winners or is it just for 1 winner?
2. The PDF “Brief” file appears to be damaged.
3. The Graphics in the “resources” download are very low-resolution…
4. What if the video is non-verbal – does the brand still need to me mentioned?
Thanks
Robin

Hi Robin,
1. The $4,000 is the total amount of awards. (First place is $1,500 and so on.) The prizes are broken down in a separate tab under the FoodSaver Contest page.
2. I just checked out the brief problem you mentioned and had the same issue so we are working to fix that right now. We’ll let you know when it’s back up and working, sorry for the inconvenience!
3. The end slate and FoodSaver logo should be in 300 resolution. I just checked them as well.
4. As far as mentioning the brand, the required inclusion of the FoodSaver end slate is sufficient.

Alright, the brief for FoodSaver is back up and ready for download! You can download from either the FoodSaver contest page on Zooppa or from the FoodSaver Facebook page.
Good luck everyone!

Does the endslate count as SAYING “Foodsaver Vacuum Sealer”? or does it need to be audible? Also, if I wanted to actually use a Foodsaver in my commercial, does it have to be a specific one? I have a handheld one from the Foodsaver brand. Can I use that one?
Thanks,
Christina

A lot of folks are doing an audible over the end slate, and that works fine. And sure, you can use the FoodSaver in your vid.

“You must mention the “FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealing System” at least once in your video. "
I’ve made a video with a phrase “FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer”.
Is it ok or should I redo it?
Thanks in advance

Just finishing another video and wanted to ask:
“You must mention the “FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealing System” at least once in your video.”
Am using a male voice singing “if only they had a FoodSaver”. Is it ok?

For some reason my video uploaded twice. Is it possible for you to delete one of the two videos for “Lunch underground”?

Not to worry Rob, will do. Lot’s ofdupes happen at the end of contests and we sift through them all to make sure there’s only one copy of every video.
