Hey everyone!

We have a new contest for you from across the pond. Betfair, the world leader of online betting wants videos of you explaining how their betting exchange system works. It’s pretty simple and there’s a video about it on the brief page. You have to use people with European accents. That’s one of the requirements because this is a British company.

Here’s your mission in full:
Make a video, 60 – 90 seconds long, about a person explaining how Betfair works to a friend before, during or right after a sporting event. The friend can be a down on his luck bettor or just someone that’s interested in what Betfair is all about. It can also be an animation explaining the excitement of betting with Betfair’s unique betting technology (i.e. betting exchange, in game betting). The field is wide open for you to explain the finer points of using Betfair for betting on your favorite sports.

While your video’s story is key, your focus should be on how easy it is to use Betfair and should also hit upon some of the following points:

1. Betfair is the world’s largest betting community at 3 million strong. 2. When someone makes a bet on Betfair that bet is automatically matched with someone else who thinks the opposite. 3. You can use Betfair 24/7 with the amount of sports available to bet on. 4. You can place/trade bets while the game is in progress. You can use Betfair to change your position as the game progresses.

Do all of the actors need to be British and/or have British accents?

Hey Marc,

No, everybody doesn’t have to be British. But at least one prominent person does (like the narrator, or the main character.)

Hey Zooppafficianados,

Having trouble finding someone British to be in your Betfair commercial? Does anyone know any British talent who are looking for work? Post below if you are looking, or if you know somebody!

Thanks
Ian

We’ve got some great entries in the Betfair competition already! We want more! Now that Zappos is over, we’d love it if you would turn your creative energy to our other two contests. We love your brilliance and want to see more ads!

dear staff,
more than 4 hours ago, I uploaded a video for the contest “Betfair”, for a few minutes I could see him now, even if the system tells me to be in the race, my video is no longer present. What happened?

Hi Gutterez,

I see two videos from you for Betfair. It looks like the system took a few hours to synch. Sorry for the delay!

Dear Sirs!
Can I use GarageBand on my MAC to make a song for a Betfair competition?
Should I somehow legalize it afterwards?

Composing original works with GarageBand is not only acceptable, but encouraged!

Either will encode fine, though 16×9 ends up letter-boxed. You could always upload one of each and compare to see what they look like, let me know which, and then I can delete the one you don’t like. I’ve seen different people with different preferences.

Deadline is 4pm Pacific Standard Time, Dec 5th. Upload before then to qualify. If you’re having any trouble with our site and uploading, be sure to email zooppa.usa@zooppa.com before 4 and we can help you out.

And also, a few people have told me they’ve had problems with no confirmation emails being sent out to sign up and vote. What should they do?

It should be between 60-90 seconds. But you could note in the description you have a tight 45 second version available.

Have them contact zooppa.usa@zooppa.com and we’ll help them out. Also, check your spam folders, just to make sure the confirmation didn’t get sent there.
