Hey everyone!

I’ve entered the MyCube contest and the guide for video formatting is a 4:3 or 16:9 ratio. My video that I submitted is a 4:3 ratio (720 × 480) but for some reason the height seems to be a little off (short)…I’ve tried re-rendering it and uploading it again but it still shows up short…

I guess my main concern is will they disqualify me for that? My original file (which I can imagine if I win they’d want to have) is the correct ratio, but the website isn’t displaying it correctly.

*Oh, I also believe when I rendered it out in After Effects the video formatting was a 720×480 resolution for NTSC. I’m honestly not too sure if because I rendered it out as a NTSC that could be causing the problem (but I’d think a 720 × 480 is always going to display as a 720 × 480)

NTSC by standard has a .9 pixel aspect-ratio, I believe, so that would be why it is going to squish your video on ya.

You won’t be disqualified. In order to make it look good in our player, try exporting as 640×480 square pixels. You can re-upload and I’ll delete the old submission. If you just want to leave as is, that’s okay too.

Huh, okay. Thanks!

As for re-uploading it, I think I may keep it as it is. :P I’ve already sent emails and have gotten a lot of votes on it. But thanks!

Also, sorry for taking so long to respond—it’s exam time for me :-P Been swamped lately.
