Grist and Zooppa have a new competition: Grist 2… that’s right another chance to make a video for Grist! This time the grand prize is for the title of Zooppa’s Funniest Video Award and 500 Zoop$.

Grist delivers the news and views on global warming and its politics, with puntastic headlines and a splash of snark. That’s because Grist readers have no time for sanctimony, no patience for predictability, and no room for doom and gloom. The problems we face are serious, but who says saving the planet can’t be fun?

So here’s your chance for a redo. This time around we want to see your most hilarious, sarcastic or snarky takes on global warming. We’re looking for ads with biting wit, ironic twists and satirical excesses. Think Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart, or, if you prefer, Al Gore doing a set at Catch A Rising Star.

Let’s get it going, Zooppers. We’ve got 500 Zoop$ at stake for the Grist ad that makes us spew milk out of our nose while we turn off the lights, inflate our tires or bike to work. Get started soon, the competition ends April 12, 2009. And laugh now or the planet gets it.

To participate in this Zooppa contest, you must comply with the rules of this brief, and with the general contest rules, which can be found in the Terms & Conditions, and in the Submission Agreement. Please note that in order to win a prize, you will be required to certify in writing, via Zooppa’s Copyright Clearance Form, that all content in your entry is your original work, is in the public domain, or is used with the written permission of the author or owner of the work, and does not violate the publicity or privacy rights of any person.
