Contest brief
FESTIVAL OF CREATIVITY BRIEF - ENGLISH VERSION
Hey guys,
here we are with another contest made just for you. Well, it’s actually doubly made for you, because the thing we're promoting—for the first time in Zooppa's history—isn't a product, service, or company, but an event, and a big one, too: the Festival of Creativity or should we say, a festival celebrating folks like you!).
The Festival will take place from October 23 to 26, 2008, in Florence, Italy, at an old fortress in the city, the Fortezza da Basso. Listen up, Zooppers, because this is a serious festival: last year it was attended by an incredible 350,000 visitors, and this year even more are expected (although this also depends on you and on how well you manage to publicize the event). The event is intense because it will draw exhibitors from all over the world, it’s organized by the Fondazione Sistema Toscana (a Tuscan foundation that manages the much-visited events calendar on intoscana.it.), and it’s going to be open from 9 AM until four in the morning (hey, we all know that creative types are always up late, right Zooppers?)
It's going to be an exciting flood of ideas and novelties, happenings, demonstrations, conferences, workshops, experiences, exchanges and serious fun. Just to give you an idea of what people will experience at the Festival, offerings will include the MOSTRA RINASCIMENTO VIRTUALE (Virtual Renaissance Exhibition), the first exhibition of works of art created in Second Life, a pavilion dedicated to everything Brasilian, another one dedicated to Virtual Worlds, and, last but not least, Zooppa is going to be there, too! Oh, yes, we are going to be sharing a stand with our friends from Log607, another branch of the H-farm family dedicated to creating games which provide immersive, social experiences that integrate the real world and that of the media (have you ever heard The Ruyi?). But we’ll have a chance to talk about stuff like this down the road, because we’re inviting all of you to come see us in our booth at the Festival!
Heads up, though. While we have given you all kinds of info, and you’ll find a lot more on the Festival’s web site (www.festivaldellacreativita.it), what we’re asking you to do is to think about the big picture. Publicizing large-scale events is never easy, because they always involve lots of initiatives. The secret—as is always the case in advertising—is to concentrate on one aspect of the larger whole, or to communicate one thing in particular. The theme of this year’s Festival is “Visions, Voyages, Discoveries” and we want you to unleash your creative energies in keeping with this theme through the use of video and/or graphic design. Get curious, capture the spirit, and be convincing—basically, we want you to draw as many people as possible to the Festival with your advertisements.
