Aug 20, 2010 07:52amHello cramerhwood, thanks for your comment it is greatly appreciated… Yes! Maya is a more flexible tool when it comes to 3D element, as a second option you got 3D’s Max which is also made by the Autodesk team same as Maya, now the bottle in the final slate was created with Maya, so I think Maya is a good way to go!…

Aug 20, 2010 07:33amVery nice work. I am especially impressed by the end slate. I have some familiarity with C4D, but I feel it has too many limitations. I’m thinking I should focus on Maya. Any advice?

Aug 16, 2010 09:15pmIts actually a simple combination of oat meal and water with red food color. What 3D program did you use? People like you and Cauthier inspire me to learn 3d!

Aug 16, 2010 09:07pmThanks Greg, :) I know we are all excited and anxious, I just don’t see the need of people getting at each others, I’m sure everyone did the best job they could and we all deserve the respect, I like your ad BTW what did you use as the liquid? I was wondering?…

Aug 16, 2010 08:12pmI don’t think it should be a problem man. I think we can all agree the brief was a little unclear. We can all clearly see the bottle on the slate. If anything showing the bottle twice caused me a lot of problems. I guess we’ll see how anal the judges are with the rules. Anyways congrats Moka!

Aug 16, 2010 05:29pmI want to thank Cauthier, Leonisa and Patterns-loops for their support, and now if I might I would also thank The Film Critic and Greg Cam for their concern too but I must explain the following; if you look carefully to my ad you will notice that my final slate, is not the one given by Pepto Bismol and use by most of the other contestants, my slate is composed of 3 separate elements, 1) the right fonts flying into the stage followed by number 2) an exact 3D bottle model created in Maya that flies into my number 3) drip animation also created in Adobe After Effects. so there you go, my bottle is there, please look at it again in slow motion and you will see the backing of the package and if you look even closer you my even see the price!… thank you guys. what a great competition, good luck to all of you!…

Aug 16, 2010 04:57pmThanks for further backing up my point. I’m only stating what the rules are. Like he said, I’m not a hater rather i’m just being realistic.

Aug 16, 2010 04:45pmIm not a hater. Im a realist. This is from the forum:
QUESTION
- The way I plan on making my ad, it wouldn’t make sense to actually show the Pepto‐Bismol package in the ad, but doesn’t the end slate animation do this for you? Therefore making this requirement redundant?ANSWER-
Not so much redundant only because showing the package multiple times is what makes advertising successful. The more you show a product and the label, the more a viewer will remember it. Just make sure you follow all guidelines in the brief because they are going to be very particular that all elements are included in each commercial.
Thanks, hope this helps!!
